Day 6 - Lake Bled, Slovenia

Heading out to Bled Island

The Badgers celebrated the 14th wedding anniversary of Head Coach Kelly Sheffield and his wife Cathy with a trip to Lake Bled, Slovenia. Once at the lake, the team took two traditional Slovenian boats out to Bled Island. These boats are rowed by one person and are passed down from generation to generation with only 22 families allowed to row the boats.

On Bled Island

The Badgers spent about an hour on Bled Island, exploring the church and shops, and walking around the island. Some of the team had to stop for gelato, of course!

What better way to wrap you a day at Lake Bled than to take a dip in the lake!

The trip back to shore

The team and staff took the same boats back to shore, enjoying more time with each other.

Lunch on shore

The Badgers enjoyed a traditional Slovenian lunch on the shores of Lake Bled and enjoyed the lake as the views changed during and after a thunderstorm. The team then drove to the Venice, Italy, where it will spend the next two nights.
