Day 11 - Rome, Italy

Badger Gladiators

The Badgers had a nice relaxing morning, spending it eating a late breakfast before taking a dip in the hotel pool. Around noon, we headed to the Metro where our first stop was the Coliseum. The team enjoyed wandering the halls and imagining the battles of yesteryear! All of the team's defensive specialists got into the gladiator spirit!

Checking out the Forum And Palatine Hill

Close to the Coliseum is the Forum and Palatine Hill. The Forum was the original marketplace of ancient Rome while Palatine is the most famous of Rome's seven hills and is full of archaeological ruins and gardens. Terraces on the Palatine provided incredible views of Rome, the Coliseum and the Vatican.

Monumental Badgers

The Badgers pose in front of the Vittorio Emanuele II Monument, a monument built in honor of Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of a unified Italy.

Our Final dinner

We enjoyed the final dinner of our European Tour on the streets of Rome. The Badgers dined on salad, pasta and meat as a team, enjoying the memories of their tour. Head coach Kelly Sheffield and senior M.E. Dodge talked to the team as the Badgers plan on using this tour to kick off their 2019 season. A street musician made the final meal even more special. Back to the U.S. tomorrow!
